SOFTSIDE OF WILD™: CACAO CEREMONY
September 21, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Open your heart with one of nature’s sacred plant medicines: CACAO
Join Ayurvedic Practitioner and All That Matters’ yoga teacher Sohini LiveWell to celebrate the vernal equinox through a ritual of togetherness and euphoric unity – waking up the heart with live music, meditation, and euphoric dance!
Performed for spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes, cacao ceremonies have been around for thousands of years, originating back to the Mayan and Aztec traditions. Working with this sacred plant medicine is powerful yet safe, and it becomes a door-opener for inner exploration of Love, Compassion, Song, Intention, Creativity, Curiosity, Inspiration, Expression, and Connection.
In this sacred ceremony:
– Drink ceremonial grade cacao
– Sit in intentional guided meditation
– Explore and share our relationship to heart wisdom
– Invitation to play, feel and express using song and dance
Like all plant medicine, Cacao works with us and what we need to feel, see and understand through the discernment of the mind, the somatic sensation of body rhythm, and the wisdom of spirit and soul. Pure Cacao has an affinity to the channels of the heart. We know in Ayurveda, the oldest medical health care system, that when we work on the heart we also work on the mind. The mind is seated in the heart and it is the bridge between the earth world and our connection to the realms of spirit and source.
Contraindications: The ceremonial Cacao dose is not recommended for those taking any heart medication or anti-depressants, or pregnant mothers – Please inform us to adjust your serving size.
Recommendations:
– Ceremonial Cacao is most powerful when taken at least 2 hours after meal
– Wear loose comfortable clothing
– Bring a water bottle and come hydrated
– Any sacred items for the altar are always welcome
This program includes live music!
Roseminna Watson is the former first violinist of the Aiana String Quartet, winners of the 2011 String Prize at the Coleman International Chamber Music Competition. From 2011-2013, the ensemble was the Young Professional String Quartet in Residence at the Butler School of Music at UT Austin under the mentorship of the Miró Quartet. Since Aiana’s amicable dissolution in 2013, Ms. Watson has been rebalancing her energy and continuing her life-long exploration of multiple expressive disciplines — painting, writing, video, and composition. Her fascination with the human body as a vehicle that carries us closer to the divine is evident in her work across mediums. Roseminna currently performs as a solo-act multimedia artist / singer / songwriter / violinist, is a frequent collaborator with dancers, artists, and other musicians, and is a founding member of H u m m i n g O w l — a duo with her singer /songwriter / sitarist husband, Pablo Escalante. Her first solo album, Limbic Hymnal (2017), is available at roseminnawatson.comfor physical copy, and on the iTunes store for digital download.
Videos, artist statements, and work samples can also be found at roseminnawatson.com.
Pablo Escalante is primarily a singer – songwriter / sitarist but has a passion for instruments and musical creations of all kinds. Pablo is a founding member of Humming Owl — a duo with his wife, violinist and singer Roseminna Watson — as well as a recording engineer and graphic designer.
